Fancy a go at Lawn Bowls?
We hope the answer is yes, and if so, please read on.
Bowls is a game which is enjoyed by people of all ages, despite any preconceived image you may have.
Also, having no previous knowledge or participation in bowls or any other sport is not a barrier to your participation. For many bowlers this is their first attempt at sport. The only physical contact involved is a handshake with the opposition at the beginning and end of the match!
If you find that you like the game, a short course of instruction can be arranged
What follows on?
If you have now tried the game and perhaps the short coaching course, we hope you will apply to become a member of the Hawley Bowling Club. We will give you more advice on the game, and further coaching if you wish, and also information on how the club is run, and the leagues and friendly bowls fixtures that we hope and encourage you to participate in. If you would like to know more, please contact Brian Cooper on 01276 501233.
We have a licensed bar and play Whist during the winter months and usually have a bowls club holiday for a few days in the winter months when play is on an indoor rink.
Please come along and give it a try; we genuinely want and need new members, whether you are new to bowls, new to the area, or want a change of club.
